Have YOU heard? January 14
Hold onto your spoons, because today is National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day! Now that’s something to “relish!” Did you know the word pastrami comes from the Romanian “păstra,” meaning “to preserve”? I guess you could say they really “preserved” this tradition! The sandwich was first created in New York’s kosher delis in the late 1800s – talk about a recipe for success!
And speaking of success, on this day in 1954, Marilyn Monroe married baseball legend Joe DiMaggio! Their marriage might have struck out after just 274 days, but hey, that’s still a longer run than some baseball seasons! You could say their love was more of a short stop than a home run!
Birthday alert! On this day in 1969, Jason Bateman came into the world! Before his “Arrested Development,” little Jason started acting at age 10 on “Little House on the Prairie.” I guess you could say he was “prairie-pared” for stardom from the start!
Want to hear something that’ll really get your gears turning? Today in 1794, Dr. Jesse Bennett performed the first successful cesarean section in America! Talk about a “delivery” that really made history! And get this – he performed it on his own wife! Now that’s what I call taking your work home with you!
And here’s something nuts – it’s also National Organize Your Home Day! Time to get your ducks in a row… and your socks in pairs! Did you know the average person spends one year of their life looking for misplaced items? Talk about a “cluttered” schedule!
