Have YOU heard? January 16
Today is National Nothing Day! That’s right, a day created in 1973 to celebrate… absolutely nothing! Talk about a “void” in the calendar! But here’s something – by celebrating Nothing Day, aren’t we actually celebrating something? That’s deep enough to make your brain hurt, isn’t it? I guess you could say it’s a “nothing burger” with everything on it!
Want to hear something that’ll really get your brain “popping?” Today in 1939, the first Superman comic strip appeared in newspapers! But here’s the “super” surprising part – Superman couldn’t fly in the early comics! He could only leap tall buildings in a single bound. I guess you could say he was more of a “hop” hero than a “caped” crusader!
And here’s something to “chew” on – it’s National Fig Newton Day! These cookies were named after Newton, Massachusetts, not Sir Isaac Newton. Though I bet he would have been “gravitated” towards them! They were first made in 1891 and the machines that made them were called “Newton Masters.” Talk about being the “master” of your craft!
