So, what exactly does that mean?
As a professional voice actor this is NOT my sales pitch, it is a REAL passion of mine and I have been doing this work for over 35 years – since 2012 running my own VO business.

While I have done A LOT of different voice over work from commercial and promo and explainer, whiteboard and YouTube videos and game characters and audiobooks and Alexa apps and phone messages and even on-camera gigs, for me elearning and educational content is where I find the most satisfaction and reward. This is where I am focusing A LOT of my energy in 2022 reaching out and working with folks who put an emphasis on high quality training and education for their students, employees and contractors.

The importance of e-learning voice over in your employees’ training

There are three critical aspects of eLearning voice over that I’ll highlight here:

The tone of the voice over. This is the mood or feeling that’ll define the entire eLearning experience for your employees. The overall tone should be positive and encouraging, in order to instill confidence in your trainees and maximize their chances of learning the material. The voice over should be warm, conversational, and friendly, and remain consistent without being monotone. Striking the right tone will make the content feel approachable, and make the learning experience fun and enjoyable.
The energy level. While the level of energy in the voice is often related to the tone, in that a more upbeat sounding voice is usually more dynamic and therefore carries more energy, the energy level and tone of the voice are not equivalent. Energy in this case refers to both the volume of the voice and the emphasis placed on certain words, which signal to your listeners which information is most important and when to pay special attention.
The pace of the voice over. eLearning modules are often interactive, meaning that your employee must click through the different slides or pages in order to advance through the content. The pace of the voice over will determine how quickly they move through the material, and in general, a slower pace will facilitate better understanding of the information. The timing of the voice over delivery should take this into account while still sounding natural.
